The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-River Basin Control Office conducted the National River Basin Summit on March 15 and 16 which also served as the kick-off activity for the celebration of the World Water Day 2022.

The Summit provided the venue to enhance the participants’ knowledge in water management through sharing of ideas, learning experiences and best practices related to river basin management.

During the said Summit, Atty. Eduardo R. Cabantac, the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator of Isabela, represented Regional Development Council 2 (RDC 2) Chair and Isabela Governor Rodolfo T. Albano III as one of the reactors on the topic “Build Back Better Task Force: Updates and Initiatives.”

Atty. Cabantac shared the initiatives of the region to mitigate the impact of the November 2020 flooding and help restore and protect the Cagayan River Basin.

In closing, he extended gratitude to all partners and stakeholders at the regional and local level for their support to rehabilitate, protect and sustainably manage the Cagayan River Basin. He emphasized that the Council will continue to implement critical programs and projects needed to restore and sustain the Cagayan River Basin and help the region recover and ensure safe, adaptive, and resilient communities for all. #PFPD
