CABARROGUIS, Quirino, March 15 (PIA)—After registering the first fire incident in the province for this year, the Bureau of Fire Protection here has further intensified its fire prevention campaign by boosting its capability to suppress fire and through stricter enforcement of the Fire Code or RA 9514.

Chief Inspector Rogelio D. Parallag said the fire happened yesterday at Pinaripad Norte, Aglipay where a residential house owned by Rosalinda Agtarep was totally razed.

Parallag said they want to prevent similar incident that is why they are strengthening their Ugnayan sa Barangay Program to have a proper coordination with barangay officials and to educate the people on how to prevent fire.

For the first quarter, 19 lectures and trainings to barangay frontlines in case of fire and other emergencies have been conducted and at least 20 Kiddie/Junior Fire Marshal in different schools province wide have been organized.

Likewise, the BFP is also continuously inspecting establishments to ensure that the pertinent provisions of the Fire Code are strictly observed by establishment owners.

Parallag reported that around 1,895 establishments have been inspected from January to February.

Fire drills were also conducted in schools and in business establishments and more are scheduled to be conducted in markets and other venues to ensure preparedness of the public during emergency situations like fires.
