BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 25 (PIA) — This province, including two of its 15 municipalities have been recognized as some of the Agri-Pinoy Rice Achievers Awardees for 2012.

Nueva Vizcaya, along with the local government units of Aritao and Solano were cited by the Department of Agriculture(DA) for their achievement of 4.53 Average Production per Hectare(APH), strong support of local government units to their local agriculture programs and the cooperation of farmers to new farming technologies and trends said Fidel Ballesteros, assistant provincial agriculturist.

Nueva Vizcaya is expected to receive P4 million while the towns of Aritao and Solano will be given P1 million each as cash incentive.

“Right now, we are preparing the requirements needed to download the cash prize. The requirements are in the form of proposals to support and sustain the gains in the agriculture sector,” Ballesteros said.

Agricultural ExtensionWorkers (AEWs) and officials were also awarded through the 2012 Agri-Pinoy Rice Achievers Awards with cash incentive of P20,000 each.

The awardees are: Esmeralda Alejandro, Leonida Ballesteros, Norberto Butac, Esmeralda Cabato, Victoria Damian, Hiyasmin Daquioag, Shirley Lumicao, Rachelle Anne Medrano, Jun Mingaracal, Erlinda Sadang, Oliver Sibug, Marc Evans Tamani and Julia Torio, all of Solano town and Elmer Aleman, Edilberto Batallones, Remigio De Guzman, Luzviminda Espiritu, Norman Jexter Flores, Maria Lita Gaboy, Revelita Gavan and Divina Gracie Peralta, of Aritao town.

Officials and technical personnel of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist(OPAg) were also awarded as follows: Ramon Sagadraca, Felipe Panganiban, Lorna Acio, Noralyn BUsa, Fidel Ballesteros, Salvador Dacumos, Virgilio De la Cruz, Denia Fragata, Municipal Agriculturist of Aritao, Noda Galla, Jimmy Madiam and Ramon Ramento, Municipal Agriculturist of Solano town.
