CABARROGUIS, Quirino, March 25 (PIA)—At least 84 women employees of the provincial capitol were given free bone scanning services, while 25 women availed themselves of free eye check- up during the recent celebration of Women’s Month here.
The said medical services were initiated by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office.
Laura Matammu, provincial social welfare and development officer, said bone scanning is important for women because as they age, they will be prone to osteoporosis. “We need to take good care of the health of our women workers so that they can become productive partners in the development of our province,” she added.
Matammu added that through bone scanning, the cause of unexplained bone pain will be diagnosed.
The women employees were also given free meat and fish processing demonstrations through the Department of Science and Technology and the Quirino State University, Diffun campus.
