DIFFUN, Quirino, April 4 (PIA) — Mayor Marlo Guillermo will lead the drug testing of male employees to avoid a repeat of the problem where one of the LGU’s employees was arrested due to violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive. Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The employee was arrested last March 28 at 10:49 p.m. by joint team from Diffun Police Station and personnel of the Quirino Police Provincial Office while they were performing anti-criminality campaign and conducting intel monitoring along the national highway of Aurora West here. Found in his possession were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu. He is now detained at the Diffun Police Station.

The municipal chief said he was saddened by the incident, adding that the said employee promised to stop using illegal drugs when they had heart heart-to-heart talk, together with the other employee who is in the watch list of the police.

“I hope this incident will serve as warning to the other employee and to those who are involved in illegal drugs,” the mayor said.

Mayor Guillermo assured that they will apply all pertinent rules of the Civil Service Commission to the said detained employee.
