Former Regional Development Council 2 Chairman Bishop Ramon B. Villena celebrated his golden sacerdotal anniversary last Friday, April 5, 2013 at the St. Dominic Cathedral, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Prominent personalities in politics and the religious joined the festivity honoring the 50 years of pious service he offered to the community.
The Bishop led the thanksgiving mass, with the presence of Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao City, Bishop Ramon Beltran of the Diocese of San Fernando, La Union, and other members of the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Governor Luisa Lloren Cuaresma and Quirino Provincial Governor Junie E. Cua were also present in the activity.
Bishop Villena expressed his gratitude for commemorating the event with him and to the support and confidence of everyone during his years of service. He also asked for prayers as he further pursue his life according to God’s will and purposes.
Bishop Villena has been an active advocate of various causes in the region. He is very participative and expressive in several concerns around the region such as the mining issue. He also showed unstinted commitment to the Council being one of the dynamic Private Sector Representatives of the RDC 2 presently.
