MADDELA, Quirino, March 6 (PIA) –The Philippine National Red Cross-Quirino chapter will formally turn over on March 19 some units of transitional houses to 27 families at Villa Ylanan, Maddela whose houses were totally razed by typhoons Pedring and Quiel in 2011.
Jesusa Leal, chapter administrator of PNRC Quirino, said the turn-over will be graced by some officials of the funding institution, the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC).
The IFRC officials will award the ready for occupancy houses to the beneficiaries, namely, Angelina Ruma, Villamor Domingo, Lito Buccahan, Nestor Cahapon, Joseph Buccahan, Samuel Ruma, Jaime Armada, Robert Malab, Evangeline Tamani, Ronald Ruma, and Rudy Grospe.
Other recipients include Jimmy Camino, Nickson Duran, Juanito Soriano, Roger Daguro, Gene Sagay, Roland Malab, Carlito Oja, Jun Ruma, Fernando Gumiran, Jockson Gumiran, ElordeToquero, Augusto Abriam, Leonilo Soriano, Eddie Punay, Richard Ruma, and Jaime Ruma.
Aside from the housing project, Red Cross Quirino also provided livelihood assistance of P10,000 each to some 800 affected families in Diffun, Saguday, and Maddela. The project is under the Early Livelihood Recovery Program of PNRC aimed at assisting typhoon victims to recover from losses due to typhoons.
The said recipients were identified based on assessment and monitoring conducted by PNRC officials.
