CABARROGUIS, Quirino, April 23 (PIA)—This province is among the 172 local government units in Northern Luzon included in the Comprehensive Land Use Plans (CLUPs) awarding at Baguio City Country Club for completing their CLUPs.
The province received a plaque of appreciation under the bronze category, Daniphine Badua of the Provincial Planning and Development Office said.
She said that the six municipalities have already submitted their CLUPs to the Provincial Land use Committee for review, revisions and adjustments and these will be approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Badua added that the CLUPs will serve as the bible for the province’s physical and economic development toward a safer and healthier environment.
“The CLUPs consist of maps showing how the use of land in each of the municipalities will be regulated, as well as their profiles, visions and the strategies on how they will achieve their visions. They are accompanied by zoning ordinances,” Badua explained.
She likewise stressed that the municipalities’ plans on ecological balance, bio-diversity conservation and disaster risk reduction and management are included in the CLUPs.
The Provincial Planning and Development Office is set to train the municipal planners and CLUP implementers in June to ensure strict implementation of the land use plans.
The award was handed by Vice President and Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) chairman Jejomar C. Binay.
