TUGUEGARAO CITY, May 7, (PIA) – To drumbeat the quest for a Secure and Fair National and Local Elections (SAFE) 2013, the Police Regional Office 2 goes beyond wheels and roads to reach every municipality of Cagayan through its advocacy-driven two days motorcade adventure.
No less than rider-enthusiast police Regional Director Atty. Rodrigo Purisima-De Gracia, together with his staff, PSSupt. Gregorio N. Lim, Provincial Director of Cagayan Police Provincial Office and Chiefs of Police of the Province spearheaded the advocacy campaign as they ride their motorcycles, armed with flyers and leaflets, together with some 250 participants
The activity was also participated in by PNP personnel from different towns, Philippine Army, Motorist Volunteers and other civilian groups. The motorcade started here in the city, Maharlika Highway going to Sta. Praxedes town which is the farthest municipality of the province passing through Aparri then Sta Ana then motoring back to Tuguegarao City in the second and final day of the motorcade.
De Gracia is hoping that through the said advocacy, the public will help maintain peaceful, safe, orderly and fair election on Monday, May 13.
“The activity was initiated to ensure that the PNP’s advocacy for a Safe and Fair Election reach every local candidate, their supporters and the voting populace,” De Gracia said.
Aside from flyers and leaflets which will be given away along their route, signing of peace covenants will be made between and among local candidates in the towns of Gattaran, Abulug, Claveria and Aparri.
“We’re hoping that our advocacy for SAFE 2013 will be achieved; and I urge the public to cooperate with your Valley Cops to help us make this possible,” the director concluded.
