Three new members were added to the Regional Development Council 2 family as the regular membership of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were unanimously approved by the Council members during the 103rd RDC 2 Meeting on 27 September 2013 at Santiago City, Isabela.
The RDC 2 acknowledged the crucial role of said agencies in ensuring the attainment of regional development vis-à-vis their legal mandates and contribution to the development and peace process.
Meanwhile, the RDC 2 also confirmed the membership of the new set of Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) for the term 2013-2016, to wit:
1. Mr. Romeo Vasquez – Agriculture Sector
2. Mr. Elpidio T. Tortoza – Agriculture Sector
3. Mr. Primitivo Clave – Fishery Sector
4. Mr. Protacio Laguinday – Environment and Natural Resources Sector
5. Ms. Corona Borja – Education and Manpower Development
6. Mr. Romeo Allam – Health and Social Welfare
7. Mr. Emelito Gonzales – Health and Social Welfare
8. Ms. Ma. Belen B. Lim – Media Sector
9. Engr. Alfonso Taccad – Utilities and Infrastructure Sector
10. Mr. Gilbert Cumila – Commerce, Industry and Tourism
11. Mr. Sandy Changiwan – Commerce, Industry and Tourism
12. Engr. Aristeo Danao – Indigenous Peoples Group
Said PSRs shall be joining the highest-policy making body in the region, serving as project watchdogs by participating in the discussion, review and endorsement of programs and projects, formulation of relevant and appropriate action plans and policy recommendations, monitoring of regional activities, providing assistance in investment promotions, and other Council initiatives. They are expected to actively participate and support all RDC 2 undertakings in this three-year term.
The outgoing PSRs were also acknowledged given their active participation and substantial contribution to the RDC 2, alongside with their demonstration of commitment during their term 2010-2013.
