A total of twenty-one (21) projects were already completed under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP) III while eight (8) are still on-going as of February 28, 2014. The completed sub-infrastructure projects include nine (9) Farm-to-Market Roads/ Bridges, six (6) irrigation projects, five (5) potable water system (PWS), and one (1) Post-Harvest Facility (PHF).
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) ARPO Engineer Andres E. Cafugauan informed the Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) that fifteen (15) sub-projects were also under the pre-engineering stage and forty-four (44) sub-infra projects had been identified for implementation in the eleven (11) Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) within the region. The project spans 5 to 6 years.
For the Cagayan Province, the three (3) identified ARCs are in Sta. Isabel, Buguey; Malaueg, Rizal; and Eastern Iguig. ARISP III is spearheaded by DAR and aims to increase household income by at least 30% and improve productivity of the ARCs by providing integrated package of support services such as trainings and capability-building activities on agricultural and agri-enterprise development, aside from the rural infrastructure projects.
