To formalize her new role as co-chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) 2, Cecilia La Madrid Dy, Ph.D., has taken her oath of office on January 10, 2018 after being appointed to the position by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in December last year.

Conducted in Cabarroguis, Quirino, the oath of office was administered by Quirino Provincial Governor Junie E. Cua, the Chairperson of the RDC 2. Earlier in March 2017, Gov. Cua himself took his oath of office as the Council’s Chairperson in front of Judge Eufren F. Changale also in Cabarroguis.

Dr. Dy is currently one of the 12 private sector representatives (PSRs) of the RDC 2, representing the commerce, industry, tourism, and services sector. She sits as a member of the Economic Development Committee, a sectoral committee of the RDC 2.

Prior to her appointment as RDC2 Co-chair, Dr. Dy served as chairperson of the Cagayan Valley Regional Tourism Council, Inc. which is based in Cauayan City, Isabela. She also chairs the family-owned CMD Cable Vision, Inc. and the Polaris Cable Vision, Inc. companies.

Dr. Dy’s position as RDC 2 co-chairperson shall be co-terminus with her term as a PSR. Both Gov. Cua and Dr. Dy shall serve as the Council’s top officials up to 2019.
