CABARROGUIS, Quirino, April 6 (PIA) — More than 300 students of different courses graduated yesterday holding the distinction as pioneer graduates of Quirino State University- Cabarroguis campus, formerly known as Quirino Polytechnic College.

It was established in the early part of 1980s as Quirino Community College then it was renamed Quirino Colleges and Quirino Polytechnic College.

Through the initiative of the father and son tandem of Gov. Junie and Cong. Dax Cua, the former provincially- owned and managed college was converted to QSU last year by virtue of Republic Act. No. 10230.

Rep. Dax Cua who served as guest speaker in the QSU commencement exercises at the Capitol gymnasium, commended the graduates as he stressed the big responsibility that they are carrying being the first graduates of QSU.

“You are the ones setting the benchmark, whether QSU is a school every Quirinian can be proud of. I know this is not easy but you can do it with the education you acquired from your school,” Cua told the graduates.

Cua urged them to live up to the challenge of being the first graduate of QSU. “I can see the promise for the future of our province in you, my dear graduates,” Cua said.

He also shared his secrets for a good life such as love of family, community and self; honesty and humility and unending quest for knowledge.

The theme of the commencement exercises was “Quality tertiary education for social transformation.”
