ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, May 9 (PIA) – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) – Isabela has reported that of the 1, 338 PCOS machines that were tested last Monday, only six malfunctioned and these were immediately replaced upon request of the election officers concerned.

Comelec – Isabela election assistant Marites Salvador said the six PCOS machines that malfunctioned during the final testing and sealing are assigned in the municipalities of Benito Soliven, Burgos, Echague, Ramon, San Guillermo and in the town of Santo Thomas.

The Comelec official said some minor problems were also found out during the final testing and sealing last Monday like wrong delivery of PCOS on the supposed assigned polling precincts, memory card not properly installed, PCOS cannot read dots or crossed on the oblong portion and some marking pens to be used by the voters during the elections have no ink.

“The Comelec has already done its part in resolving the problems identified during the final testing and sealing to be ready on the day of election on Monday next week,” she assured..

Salvador said they advised the voters to fully-shade the oblong in the ballot to ensure that the PCOS machines will be able to to read the entries in the ballots.

She added that some back up batteries were used due to power interruption during the testing and sealing.
