CAMP MECHOR DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela, Jan 16 (PIA) – At least 168 Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA) members whose sons and daughters intend to join the military service are lined-up to enter the military service once they will pass the integration process requirement set by the military at the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army .
An integration opening program was held inside the 5ID at Gamu, Isabela held this week witnessed by military top officials and officers of the Cordillera Forum on Peace and Development (CFPD).
The integration process was initiated by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (Opapp).
Through Administrative Order 18 signed in 2001, the first wave of integration of fifty eight of CPLA members surrendered into the armed forces with one firearms in the army camp and are now set to undergo a six-month military training after passing the validation process conducted in July 18 to 20, 2012.
AO 18 provides for the integration of qualified members of the Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CPLA) into the Armed forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Opapp Undersecretary Atty. Ma. Cleofe Gettie Sandoval said the 168 sons and daughters of CPLA are expected to be members of the military as part of the agreement made between the CFPD and the government.
Sandoval advised the future soldiers to abide to the military discipline when they will be undergoing military trainings and be responsible members of the AFP.
“You will soon instruments of bringing peace and partners in pushing development in the community,” Sandoval said.
She urged the CFPD and the sons and daughters of CPLA to be faithful to the agreement enshrined under Administrative Order 18 to move forward in pushing development in the Cordillera region.
