BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Jan 21(PIA) – An official of the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) has encouraged business entrepreneurs to venture into projects using indigenous materials as foundations of their trade.

Clifford Gregorio, DTI senior trade and industry specialist, said there is a huge market on products such as Basket/Bayong, Woodbits, Bamboo and Banana or 4Bs.
“These materials are abundant in our province and therefore it can be sustained for a long time which will benefit various businessmen,” he said.

Gregorio also cited the basket making venture in Solano town as a rising industry which is now benefiting involved individuals.

He added that wood carvings, wood furniture and handicrafts making are also bright prospects for business development in the province.

“We are ready to assist them on business plan making, finding appropriate technologies and marketing,” Gregorio said.

He added that these products can best be promoted with the institutionalization of the “Nueva Vizcaya Goes to Alabang” trade fair, a yearly product exhibit and marketing which is participated by various entrepreneurs in the province.
