BASCO, Batanes, Feb 21 (PIA) — The conduct of the first provincewide assessment of readiness called School Readiness E Assessment (SREA) to kindergarten pupils is scheduled on March 2012-2013.

Clarita Doplito, education supervisor of DepEd Batanes, recently attended a three-day training on SREA in Baguio City to ensure a strong foundation for Grade I entrants.

Doplito further said that the SREA aims to reduce remedial classes purposely to bridge the gap of low performance before Grade I.

Those who will not pass the SREA, Doplito said, will undergo an eight-week curriculum finishing touches lessons this summer to prepare them for Grade I in June 2013. Doplito finally said that the assessment of kindergarten will be a continuing DepEd program.

Private kindergarten pupils are included in this assessment program. There are three private kindergarten schools in Basco , the Little Dominic Learning Center, the St.Dominic College Kindergarten, and Baptist Kindergarten.
