BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb 21 (PIA) — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) here recently gave recognition to its partner government agencies for their help in raising the amount of tax collected in 2012.

Lawyer Ma. Isabel Utit, officer-in-charge of the BIR district 14 office here, handed the award during their agency’s Kick-Off of Tax Campaign Activities last February 15 at the provincial capitol through the nationwide Tax Campaign Theme “I Love the Philippines, I Pay Taxes Correctly.”

The awardees were Police Senior Supt. Valfrie Tabian, provincial director of the Philippine National Police(PNP), Lawyer Leslie Costales, provincial legal officer, Danny Ramos, an employee of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office(ENRO and District Engineers Ronald Reyes and Rodolfo Torralba of the Department of Public Works and Highways(DPWH) First and Second District Engineering Offices respectively.

“We are very grateful for their contribution and therefore, this is our way of recognizing our partners for improving our collection and the economy in general,” Utit said.

The awardees, she said, were recognized for their invaluable support, cooperation and contribution on the attainment of their excise tax goal for 2012 which exceeded their target by 1,590.05 percent.
