The Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) of the Regional Development Council (RDC) during the First Quarter Joint RLUC-RCSD Meeting approved and endorsed the creation of an inter-agency composite mapping team. This is a proposal that emanated from RDC Davao Region which the RLUC wants to replicate in Region 2.

The team, to be headed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and composed of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), and Land Registration Authority (LRA), will develop and prepare a common and single control map of the region to address overlapping jurisdictions among these agencies.

The overlapping jurisdictions resulted to issues and challenges in the renewal of DENR-granted tenurial instruments, multiple dealings by the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) with migrants, land buyers, and other interested parties, obtaining a Certificate of Pre-Condition, and issuance of Certificate of Actual Land Ownership for Migrants (CALOM). To address these issues, the RLUC finds merit in the creation of a composite mapping team for the region.# NEDA2-PFPD
