ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, March 4 (PIA) — The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)-Isabela launched today the second edition of the book titled “Earthsavers Viewpoint”, a compendium of environmental issues and concerns.

The book contains selected -lingual news, editorials and views of writers from PENRO and from the Isabela monthly newsletter “Kalikasan Updates” and compiled into a book.

“The Earthsavers Viewpoint, Second Edition, book came into reality due to the unselfish contributions of people in the department who truly care for the gospel on nature’s perpetual to go on despite many challenges and difficulties,” Earthsavers Viewpoint authors Mindo Aquino and Racquel Caldez stated.

The authors also said the unsolicited nuggets of wisdom have turned many blank pages into an avalanche of eco-literary essays geared for a very noble cause of informing the public on environmental concerns.

The book is considered a unique piece of work as it was written by foresters and nature lovers from the environment office of Isabela. Likewise, the authors’ perceptions on the environment has solidified the desire for environment protection not only the employees but also the public.

The authors said that the book can be used as a guiding light and reminder for every citizens to advocate re-greening, the ecological solid waste management, clean air and safe water program from ridge to reef, from mountains to the beaches as well as other essential endeavors to help save mother earth and the millions of inhabitants living on it.

Aquino and Caldez urged the public and the media to help the environment department to advocate the caring and protecting of the remaining natural resources of mother earth.

The launching was conducted at the provincial office of PENRO-Isabela and was attended by environment officials from the province and local media personalities. The book was first launched at the same venue on August 25, 2010.

Archbishop Sergio Utleg of the Diocese of Tuguegaro City and Philippine Information Agency Regional Director Purita S. Licas also attended the event.
