In its 125th Regular Business Meeting on December 22, the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Council (RDC2) recognized the region’s national awardees in the 2022 Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) and revisited the status of the release of Philhealth claims in LGU-managed hospitals and other public hospitals in the region.

The Council lauded the region’s big win in the recently concluded 2022 SOV awarding where three of the five national award categories were awarded to Region 2 volunteers.

Along with the recognition of the SOV national awardees, the three newly endorsed geographical representatives from Cagayan , Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya also took their oath administered by Nueva Vizcaya Governor Carlos M. Padilla. Two more geographical reps are lacking to complete the fourteen private sector representatives for the Council

The Council also discussed the proposed measures to address the use of herbicides in upland farming and endorsed the establishment of the DICT Region2 free WIFI for all network, four provincial government network (GovNet) in Region 2, and acquisition of the RGC phase 2 lot. The status of dredging activity along Cagayan River was likewise tackled, and acquisition of the RGC phase 2 lot, among others.

Isabela Governor and RDC2 Chair Rodolfo T. Albano III once again led the Council’s meeting being the newly appointed RDC2 Chair, along with Private Sector Representative Christian R. Guzman, as the Co-Chair for 2022-2025 term.
