ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, March 1 (PIA) — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Isabela may be renaming the Cauayan city district hospital to Governor Benjamin G. Dy District hospital in honor to the late former governor and Cauayan City mayor.

The move is now being studied by the members of the SP who have seen the need to honor the late governor and mayor Benjamin G. Dy of Cauayan City who helped the district hospital in upgrading of its facilities.

It is recalled that the city government of Cauayan under the then leadership of the late mayor Dy donated two units of dialysis machines for the use of Cauayenos and nearby residents of Cauayan and improved the hospital premises.

Mayor Dy died of his ailments last February 16, 2013 at 60 years old.

Oscar Caballero, Cauayan City District Hospital chief, said he is in favor if ever the SP will rename the said hospital as he said that the late mayor has contributed a lot on the hospital improvement in terms of its present operations.

Caballero said the late governor and mayor Dy deserves to be remembered on his good deeds and the renaming of the district hospital is highly commendable.

“I support the move of the SP on renaming of the district hospital,” Caballero said.
