ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, March 5 (PIA) — Tuguegarao City Archbishop Sergio Utleg lauded the authors of the book, “Earthsavers Viewpoint,” for coming up with the book’s second edition after it was launched in 2010.

The book contains news write ups, opinions, observations and many suggestions for the public to protect Mother earth.

Archbishop Utleg, once Isabela Bishop, earned support from Isabelinos because of his adamant fight against illegal logging when he was still in the province.

Utleg appreciates the content of the book containing news stories, views and opinions of writers and fruitful suggestions that manifests the caring and protecting the nature.

“Our care for our environment is clearly connected with our duties towards our creator,” Utleg said in his message as guest speaker during the book launching at PENRO-Isabela compound in Ilagan City on March 4.

He said the environment is God’s gift to mankind and must be taken care justly and properly as in taking care of one self.

The archbishop urged the public to continue nurturing and protecting what God has given for the good of his people and not to exploit the beauty of nature that God has given to mankind.

He said, “God forgives but nature will never forgive,” Utleg said saying everyone has its key roles to protect the environment, not only by the environment department, not only by the church but all individuals in the society.

The duties of protecting the environment is not only in the hands of concerned agency like the environment department but all of us,” Utleg said.
