ILAGAN CITY, Isabela, March 8 (PIA) — More than two months before the May 13 elections, the Isabela Police Provincial Office (IPPO) presented to media all firearms that were surrendered, confiscated, and deposited to Isabela police stations.

This is the second time the IPPO presented the said 223 firearms, the first one was in January 11 with 200 loose firearms with Police senior superintendent Franklin Moises Mabanag making the presentation.

He said majority had unrenewed licenses.

Mabanag said the police’s intensified “Oplans katok, kontra boga and sita” is gaining positive result and he hopes that it will help ensure peaceful and orderly election in the province.

He said that the IPPO will continue its operations against loose firearms as he urged Isabelinos to comply with the Comelec’s gun ban.
