ROXAS, Isabela, March 15 (PIA) – The provincial government of Isabela through the Isabela Culture and Arts Council (ICAC) has honored cultural groups and artists in an awarding ceremony held at Roxas astrodome last March 13, 2013.
Constante Andres, executive director of ICAC, said the awards will serve as an inspiration to Isabelinos whose interests are in literary arts and local government units which are supporting arts and culture promotion in their respective localities.
Andres said ICAC has been giving awards to Isabelinos in the past three years and the awarding held at Roxas is already their fourth year of giving awards.
Among the group awardees are the city cultural council of Ilagan City for city category, the municipality of Cabatuan for municipal category, Isabela State University for institutional category; for best performing group category, LGU- Ilagan City choir, Isonic contemporary of Roxas, ISU Echague Theater Arts, Dabubu High school theater arts, and ISU Roxas stage arts.
On individual category, Tessie Tabora as most outstanding city cultural officer of Ilagan , Rizza Pascual as most outstanding municipal cultural officer of Cabatuan, Dr. Elene Tuquero as most outstanding institutional cultural officer of ISU Echague, Milagros Gayagoy as most outstanding musician, Jose Doria Jr as most outstanding choreographer, Troy Alexander Miano as most outstanding researcher, Riovic Acallar as most outstanding visual artist, Calvin Adrales as most outstanding conductor and Joe Felix Moral as most outstanding violinist.
The group awardees were given certificates of recognition and P20 thousand each; the performing groups were given each P10 thousand and the individual awardees were given each P5 thousand.
The ICAC congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue their contributions and promotions to cultural activities in the province and be advocates of literary arts.
