TUGUEGARAO CITY, March 24 (PIA) — After almost two months of waiting, the new regional director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 2 has already received the key of responsibility in a formal installation last Friday afternoon.

Assistant Secretary Javier Jimenez witnessed the turn-over ceremony held at Crown Pavilion, here wherein outgoing Regional Director Arnel Garcia passed-on the key of responsibility to incoming Regional Director Violeta Cruz.

Cruz came from region 4B while Garcia is now the regional director of region 5.

Cruz, in her acceptance speech, vowed to maintain and sustain the accomplishments of the previous leadership as well as the started projects and programs with other partner agencies and organizations.

“I know that you were outstanding last year, but I promised you that I will maintain it or even surpass your standing in so far as accomplishment is concerned. I will also continue working with other partners to meet our goal of alleviating poverty,” Cruz said.

She also vowed to continue the good partnership with the media practitioners in intensifying advocacy campaigns and in reaching out the beneficiaries of the department’s program regionwide.
