The Regional Development Council 2 – Project Development Assistance Center (RDC2-PDAC) conducted an orientation workshop on project development and evaluation for its second batch of sector specialists comprising 12 support agencies or a total of 22 participants.
Led by NEDA 2 Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr., staff of Project Development, Investment Programming, and Budgeting Division and other technical divisions of the office served as resource persons during the four-day virtual workshop from 7-10 November 2023.
As a result of the workshop, four project concept notes were presented by each group, namely, the Starter Kit Project, the I-Cove: The First Green Tech Park in Region 2, the Runway Extension at Tuguegarao Airport, and the Construction of a Level III Water System.
The completion of the course on project development and evaluation is a significant milestone for the Center. By improving the skills and abilities of its sector specialists, the RDC2-PDAC is more confident as it is better equipped to provide technical assistance to its partners and stakeholders, especially in areas of project identification and conceptualization, project development and evaluation, and project management and financing. The course also provided a deeper understanding of the importance of developing programs and projects that are aligned with national and regional development goals and priorities.
The RDC2-PDAC is scheduled to conduct another capacity-building activity for all its sector specialists next year for project proposal packaging. As a follow through activity, it will improve/ or develop the project concept note/s presented during the two batches of training on project development and evaluation to have plan-responsive and well-aligned project proposals, and to eventually facilitate the shepherding of these projects.
