The Cagayan Valley Regional Development Council (RDC) convened its first meeting for the year today, March 26, 2024, at the Provincial Capitol of Isabela in Ilagan City. On top of the agenda is the region’s proposals for budgetary allocation under the FY 2025 General Appropriations that require the Council’s endorsement. These include the:
β€’ Top 3 priority projects that will be endorsed to the NEDA Board-Regional Development Committee;
β€’ Budget proposals of 39 agencies including the regional offices, state universities and colleges, and GOCCs;
β€’ Inclusion of the DOTr’s fund for master plans, feasibility studies, and surveys in the National Expenditure Program; and
β€’ the DPWH proposed road projects.
Other lined-up agenda items include the endorsement of project proposals, namely: the Infrastructure for Safer and Resilient Schools Project of DepEd, the construction of the Balasig Small River Irrigation Project of NIA, the Smart Village and Smart Island Initiative of DICT, and the Health System Resilience Project of the DOH. Also included for deliberation is the request for support to the proposed amendments to RA 10752 or the Right-of-Way Act and RA 8794 or the Anti-Overloading Law, and the House Bill 8629 on the adoption of a human rights-based approach for the victims of internal displacement.
