The Cagayan Valley Regional Development Council (RDC2) conferred special awards to Council members during the 132nd RDC Full Council Meeting on September 25, 2024 at the Go Hotels Plus in Tuguegarao City.

 

The activity is part of the RDC Week celebration to honor and recognize the significant contributions of members in the operations of the Council. The awards presented include the Masigasig Award and the Tatak Serbisyo Award.

 

The Masigasig Award is given to members who recorded full attendance in all Council meetings, as well as provided valuable contributions to the meaningful discussion and deliberation of the region’s development concerns. The recipients include Nueva Vizcaya Governor Jose V. Gambito, DSWD Regional Director Lucia S. Alan, and PIA Regional Director Angely M. Lubo-Mercado.

 

The Tatak Serbisyo Award is given to members who exemplified leadership, dedication, and outstanding contributions to the efficient operation of the RDC and its Committees. This led to the fulfillment of the Council’s goals and targets towards the advancement of the region’s inclusive and sustainable development. The recipients include Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que, CVIOO President Amir M. Aquino, DOST Regional Director Virginia G. Bilgera, DTI Regional Director Romleah Juliet Pulido Ocampo, PSR Attorney Robin James A. Gunnacao, PSR Christian R. Guzman, and DSWD Regional Director Lucia S. Alan.

 

A Plaque of Recognition was also awarded to NEDA Assistant Regional Director Ferdinand P. Tumaliuan for his exemplary service and unparalleled commitment to ensuring the Council’s smooth and effective operation, as the RDC Secretary since 2012.

 

The RDC Week is celebrated every fourth week of September of every year by virtue of Proclamation No. 1164 to commemorate the birth of the RDCs. The week-long celebration was spearheaded by NEDA2, the Secretariat of the RDC2. The line up of celebratory activities include discussions concerning RDC matters at DWPE Radyo Pilipinas on September 16 and PIA’s Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on September 19; conduct of the Full Council Meeting on September 25; the Regional E-Governance Forum on September 26; the Fire Safety Orientation on September 27; and Daily Quiz and Trivia about the RDC through the RDC and NEDA Facebook pages.
