BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, April 10 (PIA) — The provincial government-managed Paraiso Tribu Biskayano Resort in Diadi town continue to generate income for the province.
Provincial Cooperative Affairs Officer Dr. Benjamin Daquioag said that as of March 18, 2013, the collected amount has already reached more than P2.5 million through the resort’s various amenities and facilities.
The resort, which is one of the major eco-tourism sites in the province, was formally opened in March last year.
“The amount was collected from the general admission fee, rental of log cabin, dormitories, cottages, picnic huts, swimming pool, entrance fee, boat riding and others,” Daquioag said.
Located in barangay San Luis in Diadi, the resort which is part of the Lower Magat Eco-Tourism Park (LMETP) now serves as one of the first LGU-developed and -managed tourism attraction in the province, which is envisioned to cater to people from all walks of life.
“The provincial government cannot afford to fund all the needed improvements of the LMETP, so we are encouraging investors to come in and pour their money,” Daquioag added.
The SN Aboitiz Power Magat, which covers a portion of the forest reserve in Diadi town for the operation of the Magat Hydro Power and Irrigation Project, he said has been donating funds every year to help local officials put up other development projects within the LMETP, including the souvenir huts and cottages.
The power firm will also be tapped to help in establishing an eco-walk trail, including the construction of hanging bridges.
