To be able to continually take into heart the concepts, requirements and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 02 staff underwent a two-day training on ISO 9001:2008 on May 27-28, 2013 at the Casa Angela, Tuguegarao City.
“This activity shows the efforts of NRO 2 to continually learn and improve on the systems we have endeavoured to purposefully put in place. We hope that this training would give light on how to best address the inefficiencies identified in the regular internal audit as well as increase our knowledge and further enhance our quality management system by going through the different areas of ISO 9001:2008, and be refreshed and learn more about the standards,” NEDA OIC-Regional Director MaryAnne E.R. Darauay said.
Ms. Emelita Alegre, Associate Senior Lead Auditor of the Certification International – Philippines, Inc. led the lecture on the requirements and procedures of the ISO whereas the management and staff undertook several workshops on different areas.
“In a government agency, there will always be customers whether we like it or not. The primary goal of ISO 9001:2008 is to achieve customer satisfaction and enhance it through continual improvement,” Ms. Alegre said. She commended the continuing effort of the agency to implement a quality management system for its clienteles.
Among the lectures discussed include a revisit on the origin of ISO and its significance, the 8 quality management principles, and the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 under Clauses 4 to 8, among others.
