NAGUILIAN, Isabela, May 22 (PIA) — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Isabela is reminding all local candidates in the just concluded mid-term elections to pay their campaign fund taxes.

Isabela Revenue District Office Chief Nerissa Agraam said that all local candidates including party-list groups that are registered in the province whether winners or losers in the last elections are mandated to pay their campaign fund taxes to the government.

She said that the BIR will collect at least five percent of the declared total campaign expenditures of candidates.

Agraam said that candidates are required by the Commission on Elections to submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures, and this statement will be the basis of the BIR in collecting the campaign fund taxes from the candidates.

She said that candidates from the town of Alicia and Angadanan have already paid their campaign fund taxes.

Agraam urges other candidates to pay for their tax obligation to the government.

Meanwhile, the BIR has set June 10 as the deadline for candidates to remit their creditable withholding tax.
