The Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (RPMES) Report for the first quarter of CY 2013 showed the completion of several infrastructure projects as well as the provision of key social services in the region, all aimed at uplifting the economic and social condition of people in Region 02.
As shown in the RPMES Report, a total of two hundred seventy-eight (278) road and bridge projects, 100 farm to market roads (FTMRs) and 71 Hospital Upgrading Projects were completed as of the 1st quarter of 2013. These projects were implemented by the regional offices of the DPWH, DA, and DOH. Another notable development is the 72.52% overall completion rate of the Lallo International Airport. The Lallo International Airport is expected to be completed by December 2013.
On the other hand, the Pantawid Pamilya Program of DSWD has reached a total of 73,757 poor household beneficiaries that are being provided with financial assistance. Since the program’s implementation in July 2008 up to the 1st quarter of 2013, total financial assistance extended to program beneficiaries has reached about P159.2 Million. A total of 5,339 senior citizens and 299 beneficiaries from the informal sector were also benefited from livelihood/financial assistance given by the DWSD and the DOLE.
On the National Greening Program (NGP), DENR R02 has surveyed and mapped about 14,532 hectares for tree plantations/reforestation areas and it has also procured 982,993 seedlings during the 1st quarter of the year. The DENR is currently maintaining and protecting a total of 10,299 hectares planted with trees in CYs 2011 and 2012 through the NGP.
The 1st Quarter 2013 RPMES Report presents the implementation status of twenty (20) major regional development programs and projects, seventeen (17) of which are funded by the National Government (NG), two (2) are foreign-funded, and one (1) is funded by the private sector. The nationally-funded projects include hospital upgrading, road rehabilitation, airport development, irrigation, farm-to-market roads, tree planting, livelihood and anti-poverty projects.
