Ms. Ma. Gloria L. Daluddung, Supervising Economic Development Specialist of NEDA2, represented Region 02 and emerged as the National Champion at the 3rd Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quiz Bee National Finals held today, October 5, at the Century Park Hotel, Malate, Manila.

Ms. Daluddung bested 16 other contestants from different government agencies nationwide in the three-round quiz bee.

The PSA Quiz Bee is an annual event that aims to promote awareness of the importance of statistics in national development. The competition is open to all Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) – member agencies/offices.

The RDC2-Social Development Committee (SDC) endorsed to the Regional Development Council (RDC2) the Start-up Guide Toolkit for the Establishment of Teen Centers in Local Government Units (LGUs) in the region during its 3rd Quarter Regular Business Meeting held on September 28, 2023 via zoom. The toolkit will assist LGUs in planning and starting a Teen Center as they take on the leadership to create an adolescent health and development program in their respective localities. The establishment of teen centers in LGUs is being considered as one of the indicators of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

A teen center is a one-stop-shop facility that provides appropriate information, skills, and services to adolescents and young people. It forms part of the referral system for the information and service delivery network, either as initiating or receiving facility, especially for those who require specific

The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 2 (NEDA RO2) conducted on 23 October 2023 a virtual orientation on the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) Online System (ROS). The meeting was attended by 57 participants representing agency regional offices, state universities and colleges, government-owned and/or controlled corporations, and other government instrumentalities.

The virtual meeting aimed to refresh the participants on the process of updating previously enrolled and add new priority program and projects (PAPs) into the RDIP via the ROS. The ROS is an output of two NEDA RO2 staff, Senior EDS Reginald M. Agustin and EDS II Adrian Paul C. Mabatan. Both were given the 2022 Innovation Award during the NEDA RO2-Recognition, Awards and Incentive Systems for Excellence (RAISE).

As a culminating activity of the Regional Development Council (RDC2) week celebration, the Sub-Committee on Migration and Development (SCMD) of the RDC2-Social Development Committee conducted the first Cagayan Valley Migration and Development Forum on September 28, 2023 in Tuguegarao City. The forum aimed to empower the children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through the sharing of experiences, success stories, and psychosocial lectures.

Professor Jesus B. Leonardo and Engineer Marpol Polanco discussed their respective journeys, highlighting their triumphs and challenges in their respective fields abroad. Ms. Edralyn Joy Gandeza and Mr. Alvin Ayson also shared their experiences as children of OFWs. They recounted their personal journeys, stressing their achievements and difficulties, and offering advices to their fellow OFW children.

Another highlight of the event was the lecture on the gains and threats faced by OFWs and their families by Dr. Teresita T. Lasam

The Regional Development Council 2 – Project Development Assistance Center (RDC2-PDAC) conducted an orientation workshop on project development and evaluation for its second batch of sector specialists comprising 12 support agencies or a total of 22 participants.

Led by NEDA 2 Director Dionisio C. Ledres, Jr., staff of Project Development, Investment Programming, and Budgeting Division and other technical divisions of the office served as resource persons during the four-day virtual workshop from 7-10 November 2023.

As a result of the workshop, four project concept notes were presented by each group, namely, the Starter Kit Project, the I-Cove: The First Green Tech Park in Region 2, the Runway Extension at Tuguegarao Airport, and the Construction of a Level III Water System.

The completion of the course on project development and evaluation is a significant milestone for the Center. By improving the skills and
