Nueva Vizcaya

Nueva Vizcaya is located in the heart of Northern Luzon, about 268 kilometers north of Manila and 118 kilometers south of Tuguegarao City. It is geographically located at the

southernmost part of Region 02 and is often referred to as the gateway to vast Cagayan Valley Region. It is bounded on the north by Ifugao, in the northeast by Isabela, east by Quirino, west by Benguet and south by Nueva Ecija.

In view of its location within the watersheds of the Caraballo and Cordillera mountain ranges and its distinction as the major of fruits and vegetables in the region, Nueva Vizcaya is hailed as a “Watershed Haven and Agro-Forestry”.

Isabela

Isabela is the second largest province in the Philippines, is situated in the northeastern part of Luzon. It is bounded on the north by the province of Cagayan, on the east by the Pacific Ocean,

on the south by the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and Aurora and on the west by the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao,Mt. Province and Ifugao. Its capital town, Ilagan, 398 kilometers north of Manila, can be reached in forty-five (45) minutes air travel.

Batanes

Batanes is the smallest province of the Philippines, located about 860 kilometers north of the center of government in Manila, and about 280 kilometers from Aparri, Cagayan.

Strategically, Batanes is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the China Sea to the West and the Bashi and Balintang Channels to the north and south, respectively. With the Japan current on the Pacific Ocean side which carries with it rich natural food for pelagic fishes, the surrounding 4,500 square kilometers of terrritorial waters is also a rich fishing ground that extends 260 kilometers to the Pacific Ocean, 160 kilometers to the South China Sea and 112 kilometers to the north in the Bashi Channel.

Cagayan Valley Regional Development Agenda

The Regional Development Agenda (RDA) CY 2010-2020 was formulated to guide the next Regional Development Council 2 in the crafting of the successor Regional Development Plan. The document has undergone a series of consultation participated in by line agencies, local government units, NGOs and HEIs.

The Cagayan Valley RDA is among the legacies of the officials and members of the Regional Development Council 2 (RDC2) CY 2007-2010 under the able leadership of his Eminence Bishop Ramon B. Villena. As such, the document will provide the next Council with a starting document that would guide them in formulation of the successor Regional Development Plan.

The RDA takes off from existing planning documents such as the Regional Development Plan CY 2004-2010, the Regional Physical Framework Plan, the Regional Investments Priority Plan, and the Regional Action Agenda for Productivity and Quality.
