The Infrastructure Development Committee (IDC) of the Regional Development Council 2 (RDC 2) advanced key infrastructure plans and investment proposals during its First Quarter 2026 Regular Business Meeting held on March 6, 2026, at the DPWH New Conference Hall in Tuguegarao City. The meeting brought together regional development partners to strengthen coordination and accelerate the implementation of priority infrastructure projects across Cagayan Valley.
A major outcome of the meeting was the endorsement of guidelines and procedures for evaluating infrastructure policies, programs, and projects, which aim to streamline the project review process, strengthen evidence-based planning, and ensure that infrastructure proposals align with regional development priorities prior to endorsement by the RDC.

The Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC), through its Project Monitoring Team (PMT), conducted a field monitoring visit (FMV) to ongoing and recently completed road and bridge projects along Daang Maharlika, from Nueva Vizcaya to Isabela and Cagayan, from February 23 to 27, 2026.
The FMV covered 37 road and bridge projects, implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), involving widening, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and replacement. This includes a follow-up visit to bridges inspected on November 18-20, 2025.
During the visit, the DPWH project engineers provided updates on implementation status. They also discussed key challenges, which include right-of-way acquisition, delays in securing necessary permits and clearances, plan variations, and weather-related disruptions.

The Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) of the Cagayan Valley Regional Development Council inked a Partnership Agreement (PA) with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) during the 2026 National Womenโ€™s Month Regional Kick-off Activity held today, March 2, 2026, at the Santiago Sports Arena, Brgy. Baluarte, Santiago City.
The PA aims to advance gender mainstreaming in the region through collaborative undertakings, provision of technical assistance, and policy support. The Regional Development Council 2 โ€“ Economic Development Committee (RDC2-EDC) conducted its first quarter regular meeting on February 26, 2026 via Zoom.
The meeting highlighted the proposal of the Department of Trade and Industryโ€™s (DTI) Promoting Sustainability and Productivity, Enterprise Resilience, and Upscaling (ProSPER) Project for endorsement to the RDC. RD Ledres said that the future of work will be shaped by technological advancements and shifting workforce expectations, evolving rapidly and dictated by global economic trends.
